Pasta with Spicy Sausage and Green Onions

This deliciously simple pasta with spicy sausage and green onions will be your new favorite weeknight dinner. Only four ingredients are needed to make this pasta, and two of them are in the title! All you need for this sauce is a 28oz can of crushed tomatoes, heavy cream, the spicy sausage, and green onions! It really easy a super easy, and surprisingly decadent dinner.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb pasta of your choice
  • 1 lb spicy Italian sausage
  • 1/2 cup green onions chopped
  • 28oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • pinch of red pepper
  • salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Cook pasta according to package directions.
  • Remove casing from sausages and cook in a large pot over medium - high heat, breaking up into bite size pieces. Cook all the way through, about 15 minutes.
  • Add green onions and cook an additional 5 minutes until they are getting soft and darker green.
  • Add crushed tomatoes, salt, red pepper, and heavy cream. Stir to combine and bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Add pasta into sauce, stir to coat pasta. Serve with fresh basil and cheese.
